DiPText-KC (CLARIN Knowledge Centre for Digital and Public Textual Scholarship) is one of the CLARIN Centres established under the aegis of CLARIN-IT and operates to make the acquired knowledge and expertise available to the relevant scientific community as a distributed virtual centre constituted by two partners: VeDPH (Ca’ Foscari University of Venice – Department of Humanities – Venice Centre of Digital and Public Humanities) and CNR-ILC (National Research Council of Italy – Institute for Computational Linguistics “Antonio Zampolli”), which participates in DiPText-KC through CoPhiLab (Laboratory of Collaborative and Cooperative Philology).
On 13th October 2021 DiPText-KC was officially recognized as a CLARIN Knowledge Centre (of type K) by the Executive Director of CLARIN ERIC until 12th October 2024.
At the end of the CLARIN K-Centres Workshop held on 14th December 2021, DiPText-KC was added to CLARIN Knowledge Centres.
CLARIN Knowledge Centres are a cornerstone of the CLARIN Knowledge Infrastructure (one of the main components of the CLARIN Research Infrastructure) and ensure a continuous transfer of knowledge between all players involved in the construction, operation and use of the infrastructure.
DiPText-KC offers expertise on methods, data, instruments and technologies relevant in the fields of Philological and Literary Studies, History, Art History and Cultural Heritage, trying to contribute as best as possible to the achievement of the mission of the CLARIN Knowledge Infrastructure: to ensure that the available knowledge and expertise do not exist as a fragmented collection of unconnected elements, but are made accessible in an organised way to both the CLARIN community and the Social Sciences and Humanities research community more widely.
DiPText-KC supports scholars by providing access to state-of-the-art digital tools and resources, tailored training and personalized guidance.
Through workshops, seminars and summer schools, DiPText-KC helps doctoral students to integrate digital methodologies into their research, from text encoding to data modeling.
DiPText-KC initiatives, such as training in handwritten text recognition and collaborative projects on digital editions, are designed to enhance doctoral students’ skills and broaden their academic horizons.
DiPText-KC is constantly committed to foster an innovative and collaborative research environment for the next generation of scholars.
On 28th October 2024 DiPText-KC was re-certified as a CLARIN K-Centre by the Executive Director of CLARIN ERIC until 27th October 2027.
